This privacy policy describes how The Rhyme Game ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you visit this website.

Information we collect

The Rhyme Game is a static website. You do not need an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, or any other personal information to play. We do not directly collect or store personal data.

Microphone and audio

Mic mode is optional and off until you switch it on. When it is on:

• Audio is processed in your browser, on your device. We measure the loudness of the incoming signal to detect when you speak, so the game can score your timing. The words you say are never transcribed.
• Nothing is recorded or uploaded. There is no recording, no storage, and no transmission of your audio — closing the page or switching mic mode off releases the microphone immediately.
• Own-beat files stay on your device. Audio files you load as custom beats are played back locally and never uploaded.
• Round recording is local-only. If you enable Rec, the round's audio (beat plus your voice) is captured in your browser to build one file, offered to you as a download in the game review. It exists only in your browser — we never receive a copy.

Third-party services

We use third-party services that may collect information as described in their respective privacy policies:

• Advertising partners (e.g. Google AdSense) — may use cookies to serve relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising via your browser settings or Google's ad settings.
• Analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, Cloudflare Web Analytics) — GA may collect anonymized usage data such as page views and approximate location (cookie-based, loaded only after you accept the consent banner); Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless and collects aggregate page-view data.
• Cloudflare — our hosting provider, which may process basic request data for security and performance.
• Comments (giscus, opt-in) — when the comment section is enabled, giscus.app loads an embedded GitHub view; viewing it exposes your IP address and browser info to that service, and signing in to comment is handled by GitHub under its own privacy policy.
• Embedded videos (YouTube) — pages with videos load thumbnail images from i.ytimg.com and, after you press play, the YouTube player from youtube-nocookie.com. Until you interact, no YouTube cookies are set.

Cookies

Some third-party services set cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect ad personalization but will not prevent you from playing the game or reading our guides.

Children's privacy

The Rhyme Game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Playing the game requires no account and no personal details, mic mode stays off until switched on, and nothing you say or type is recorded or uploaded. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

Your choices

You can decline the cookie consent banner, switch mic mode off at any time, and clear site data — which erases your local round history. The game remains fully playable without any of these.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page.
